[singlepic id=294 w=320 h=240 float=]Crece Bilingual School in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico has been doing the Purple Hands Pledge since 2000 annually during February and in the spring. Children, parents, teachers, and community members take the Purple Hands Pledge at school and community events, totaling an average of 1,500 pledges each year. Participation has grown over the years and the number of community partners has expanded to include local media, police officers, firefighters, and local business owners, to name a few. The local TV station covered a 2011 Hands Project community event that was a tremendous success!
