Ivan Dawson Primary School – Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, British Virgin Islands

♥  Diane Rudolphi, RN, MS, organized a student study abroad program that primarily focuses on the acute care area with students at Peebles/Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital in Tortola, British Virgin Island (BVI).
14 University of Delaware Nursing Students accompanied Diane to the British Virgin Islands to complete their service project on the Hands & Words Are Not For Hurting Project®
♥ The Nursing Students visited 60 Elementary School students at the Ivan Dawson Primary School in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola.
♥ The children all actively discussed their experiences, traced their hands onto paper, and wrote their commitment to non-violence pledge onto their artwork.
They then recited the Purple Hands Pledge® to the Nursing Students to earn a Purple Hands Wristband!
The Purple Hands Pledge and Program was well received by students and teachers!

I appreciate your support in the planning phase of this and cannot tell you what a fan I am of your organization and initiative!
